We want to reimagine, redesign and rebrand composting. As microwaves have become a part of our daily life, we want to foresee composting as another necessity of every household. We also are imagining a ‘green coin’ concept where we reward users for composting by transacting the virtual coins to service from municipal bodies. This is how we want to engage and inspire individuals and households where they would not only learn the value of composting but will also enjoy the process. Since, it's a part of experimental research we built a Smart Composting System(SCS) prototype which combines an interactive compost bin that is connected with an engaging mobile app and communicates with the user in a friendly and encouraging manner. We anticipate this will motivate the new composting users as well as technology enthusiastic users to be motivated for composting.
